The Parthenon

The Parthenon is a ancient temple to Athena stands as a symbol of the power of Athens & a testament to Greek civilization .Actually the main purpose  of the Parthenon that, it was a place of worship .In ancient Greece people in the city states they build their important temples. The most famous
acropolis is the one in Athens. The Athenian Acropolis is home to one of the most famous buildings in the world & it's called " The Parthenon ". The Parthenon is a Donic peripheral temple, actually the Donic peripheral temple means that it consists of a rectangular floor plan with a series of low steps on every side. In front of the temple it has an additional six columns also. The Parthenon massive foundations were made of limestone & the columns were made of pentelic marble, it us one kind of material that was utilized for the first time By history we can know that it was built to honor the goddess Athena. The historical event is that the construction of  these buildings took
roughly fifty years.
